Relapse means that you are going back to your old pattern of behavior. It means that recovery has stopped & regression has started up again.

Relapse is the desire in you for bettering yourself/your ways/life being overshadowed by what you are used to/what you know/your addiction. It doesnt make you less of a person. It just means you lost focus of your souls goal. Relapse happens. But so does recovery. Which voice you let lead you is up to you. Good luck!

Not necessarily and hopefully not for you, but it is for a lot of people. Like they need reminding that they really can’t control this ride. That’s a brain chemical thing combined with a certain amount of personal hubris (certainty you can control your own destiny). But it doesn’t have to work that way and don’t believe that it does. Avoid relapse at all costs if you can as you know perfectly well where this will end up. Take care.

No, “relapse” is NOT part of recovery. The term “relapse” is just a crutch for people who want to and choose to get high. It’s not like Yolo have frighin cancer or something. The term “relapse” is just an excuse, for people who don’t want to take responsibility for their own actions and choices, to use to shift blame off of themselves. We all have free will and we are all capable of making the right decisions in life. It all comes down to what someone wants. The 12 step program teaches people that they are powerless which in turns always gives them that gateway to use sometime in the future without having to take personal responsibility. Start changing the way you think and empowering yourself if you truly want change. #cbt
